icoone is the latest technology in non-invasive aesthetic and wellness. It uses an innovative technique called Multi Alveolar Stimulation delivered through handpieces equipped with microstimulators that, like thousands of tiny hands, massage the skin — up to 21,600 microstimulations per minute.

Many of us are fighting back against the aging process, and technology is a great tool to turn back the hands of time. Alberto Gutierrez is the owner of Cryo Studio Sarasota, and he’s here to tell us about the latest non-invasive advances in aesthetics and wellness. Welcome. Thank you, Stephanie, thank you for having me.
Tell us what Cryo Studio is all about. Well, we’ll tell you what we are not: we’re not a med spa, we’re not a recovery center, but we are aesthetics that is completely non-invasive. So we do treatments for skin tightening, fat reduction, lymphatic drainage and circulation. What we do is put protocols together to solve people’s problems that they’re having with their skin or with their body.
Tell me what a protocol means — how do you assess what these people may have needed to look and feel better? So when someone comes in, what we’re going to look at is if they have skin elasticity issues, or fat that they want to get rid of, or cellulite. We use a thermographic imaging system that checks and sees if it’s soft fat or hard fat, or if it’s cellulite level one, two or three, and we check the skin elasticity and the density of the fat. Then we come up with a protocol to fix those things.
And none of these protocols involve any type of cuts, injections or anything like that? Exactly. Our applicators don’t use any suction, so there’s no pulling, there’s no pinching. The fat reduction is essentially an applicator that glides on your skin — it’s actually quite comfortable — and the icoone is doing light massage and cupping, so everything is very comfortable, completely non-invasive. And you have to get rid of all your toxins via the lymphatic system, so it’s a natural process. It sounds like it’s quite nice and pain-free.
Let’s talk about the specific technologies. Should we start with cryo skin? So cryo skin is a non-invasive treatment for fat reduction and skin tightening. We can perform fat reduction anywhere in the body except the breast, because it’s a glandular area — but abdomen, legs, thighs, inner thighs, arms; bra fat is a popular one. So it’s really good to target specific areas. It’s not a weight loss program; it’s specific-area fat reduction. With cryo skin you can also do toning treatments that are great for the face, neck and cleavage, and also cellulite — so for any aging skin, sagging skin or skin lacking elasticity, that’s really good.
I heard you mention a word I wasn’t familiar with — icoone. Tell me about icoone. So icoone is in the most luxurious spas around the world, and now it’s available here in Sarasota, and it’s the latest technology coming from Italy, because it does several things with one single treatment. You can do circulation, lymphatic drainage, tissue stimulation, a lot of cellulite treatments; you can also do the face. The good thing about it is that it’s going to help your body perform better — your circulation system is going to be better, your lymphatic system is going to drain better, your muscles are going to perform better. So it’s just a really good device for overall wellness, but you also get the aesthetic results from it.
And then finally, targeted electromagnetic contractions — I think you call it TEC? Yes, we like to call it TEC. So when you’re reducing fat in the abdomen, or when you want to work on cellulite or the booty, it’s important to stimulate the muscle. We used to leave it up to the clients to do sit-ups, but we figured it’s much easier if, while we’re working on skin elasticity or fat reduction, we also work on building their muscle. With TEC we can do 30,000 contractions on the abdomen, for example, so it’s basically 30,000 crunches in half an hour; or if you want to do the glutes or the legs or the arms, we’re working on that too — if you put it on the glutes, it’s 30,000 contractions as if you were doing squats.
So when you talk about a protocol — let’s say, asking for a friend, maybe I want to work on my midsection — you might do something like cryo skin to reduce fat and then TEC to tighten. Is that what a protocol would mean? Yes. We’ll look at the elasticity and the density of the fat. If it’s fat-related, we’re going to do cryo skin to reduce the amount of fat, we’re going to do icoone to help your body get rid of the toxins from the fat cells we are destroying — so with icoone you’re going to do lymphatic drainage and tissue stimulation, so that area can also get better — and with TEC we’re going to build the muscles, so the core can get stronger, and therefore you can burn more fat overall.
